Introduction to theory of control in organizations for kids via interactive games

:  Korgin N. A. Introduction to theory of control in organizations for kids via interactive games //IFAC-PapersOnLine. 2015. Vol. 48. . 29. Pp. 289-294.
:  In order to present theory of control in organizations for elementary school graduates, a classical game which describes tragedy of commons problem, based on Cournot oligopoly model was adopted. We present results of first conducted games, which show that kids familiar with basic arithmetical operations can understand and exhibit different decision-making models. That allows us to proceed to design of examples of control mechanisms that can be explained to young audience at that basic level of mathematical knowledge.

Gaming Experiments for Analysis of Pricing Mechanisms at Electricity Markets // IFAC-PapersOnLine, V. 49, No 32, 2016. Proceedings of Cyber-Physical & Human-Systems CPHS 2016 Conference, P. 13-18.
:  A method is proposed to support management policy design and verification in complex cyber-physical & human systems (CPHS). A hierarchy of interconnected formal models is built to provide the multi-faceted view of the conflict situation lying in the core of a certain management problem. Game-theoretical analysis reveals the problem and mechanism design suggests the alternative management policy. Its efficiency is verified by multi-agent simulations and gaming experiments with experts. The approach is illustrated using the examples of two market manipulation issues arising on the Russian wholesale electricity market.

:  This paper designs an allotment mechanism for a limited amount of an infinitely divisible good (resource) among a finite number of agents under transferable utility. The mechanism is efficient in the sense of total agents utility maximization. As a solution, we introduce an adaptation of the GrovesLedyard quadratic government that was initially suggested for the problem of public good.

:  Korgin N. A., Korepanov V. O. Experimental Gaming Analysis of ADMM Dynamic Distributed Optimization Algorithm //IFAC-PapersOnLine. 2016. Vol. 49. . 12. Pp. 574-579.
:  Application of efficient distributed optimization algorithms in multi-agent systems designed for socio-economic problems demands additional conditions for algorithms to be satisfied. In particular, the algorithm should be incentive compatible, i.e., the model of behaviour of any agent should be in concordance with interests of a particular economic subject represented by this agent in system. On an example of the resource allocation problem we study incentive compatibility of the famous algorithm for dynamic distributed optimization, the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM).

:  Korgin N. A., Korepanov V. O. Experimental Gaming Comparison of Resource Allocation Rules in Case of Transferable Utilities //International Game Theory Review. 2017. Vol. 19. . 02. P. 1750006.
:  The present paper discusses the comparative analysis results of resource allocation rules using experiments in the form of business games. The comparative analysis involves five rules. The resource allocation mechanism that gives the efficient solution of the problem without transferable utility, implementing it as dominant strategy equilibrium in the agents game, so called Uniform rule. The mechanism with balanced payments introduced earlier by authors using the Groves-Ledyard rule that gives the efficient solution of the problem as a Nash equilibrium in the agents game, as well as its modification reducing the dimension of the action space of the agents. The mechanism from the class of proportional allocation mechanisms, where, the efficient resource allocation also represents a Nash equilibrium, but the payments are unbalanced. Last mechanism in the comparative analysis was originally developed as a distributed optimization algorithm.
